Get to know Dr. Slaughter:
What sets you apart as a dental professional?
I am a person of faith and try to conduct myself in all areas of life with integrity and in keeping with my Christianity. I love my family and consider my coworkers and patients to be family as well.
What is your favorite restaurant? What do you order?
Kristophers in Matthews – they have the best french fries
Where could we find you on the weekend or in your free time?
I am an avid reader and am always looking for suggestions for a new book. My daughter, Addison, is an avid soccer player, so most weekends I am out at the soccer field cheering her on. My other daughter, Dottie, is a swimmer so we spend a good bit of our time at the swimming pool as well.
Do you love to travel? Where have you been? What is on your list?
Yes! We take a yearly trip to Disney World with my family for Thanksgiving. I also love to go to New York City and try to take the kids up there several times a year. We also vacation several times a year in Kiawah Island. I went to dental school in Charleston, so it is always good to get back to the Low Country.
Who inspired your career path the most?
My cousin is a dentist and played a huge role in my career choice. I went to Queens College here in Charlotte and the professors there really led me in a path to dental school and gave me the confidence to follow my dreams of being a dentist.
Hobbies and interests:
I am very active in my local church (Mercy Church) and at my children’s school Covenant Day School, where I am the room mother for my daughter’s 3rd grade class.
