Every day, we are so grateful for the dedicated teams that serve our patients at Landmark Dentistry. We have a very knowledgeable administration team, expert dentists, a superior group of hygienists and dental assistants who go above and beyond expectations.
When you visit Landmark Dentistry you may be getting your teeth cleaned and checked by the hygienist and then the Dentist or you may be having a procedure done. When you are seeing your Dentist a Dental Assistant will be with you through the whole process.
Roles of a dental assistant during a dental appointment
During a dental exam or procedure, our dental assistants will:
- Help the dentist perform dental treatments by doing chair-side functions and laboratory duties.
- While they are very in tune with the dentist, they are also making sure the patients have the best dental experience.
- They are also responsible for placing sealants, taking tooth impressions, and performing in-practice teeth whitening.
“I love the feeling of being able to help. I set up rooms, take care of the patients, clean and sterilize, work in the lab on models. I can do administrative tasks and charting for hygienists. You can find me almost anywhere in the dental office!” – Jonathan, DA
How our dental assistants trained to provide excellent dental care
Many dental assistants attend courses in Charlotte through CPCC or one of the 18 certified dental programs in North Carolina. Becoming a dental assistant can involve a few short courses and attending job training. Some choose the year-long course where they obtain a Certified Dental Assistant title or CDA.
“I chose CPCC for my training as it was highly recommended as the best program. I always wanted to be in the medical field, and I knew that CPCC would give me the clinical experience to be able to jump right in. I love my time here at Landmark Dentistry, and I learned so much from some wonderful people.” – Nelli, CPCC Intern
Dental Assistants on the job
“My goal is to keep the fear of patients at bay when they come to see us at the practice. I want to find a common ground, connect with you, answer questions, and just be there for you!” – Crystal, DA
