Roles of a dental assistant during a dental appointment
During a dental exam or procedure, our dental assistants will:
- Help the dentist perform dental treatments by doing chair-side functions and laboratory duties.
- While they are very in tune with the dentist, they are also making sure the patients have the best dental experience.
- They are also responsible for placing sealants, taking tooth impressions, and performing in-practice teeth whitening.

How our dental assistants trained to provide excellent dental care
Many dental assistants attend courses in Charlotte through CPCC or one of the 18 certified dental programs in North Carolina. Becoming a dental assistant can involve a few short courses and attending job training. Some choose the year-long course where they obtain a Certified Dental Assistant title or CDA.
